I've Always Wanted To Fall From The Sky

You!
Yes,
You.
Everyone.

Must.
Go.
And.
Watch

Its comedy genius! Frances McDormand was priceless as Miss Guinever Pettigrew. Her bluntness is to die for. Amy Adams as shallow and ditzy Delysia Lafosse was very convincing. I just absolutely marvel over the amazing screenplay which is written by Simon Buefoy! (he wrote the screenplay for slumdog millionaire)

Like this one for instance ;

Guinevere Pettigrew: "Four's a Crowd"'s a wonderful movie. Who were you?
Delysia Lafosse: The crowd.

but that's not even the best part. God, no. The best part is that Lee Pace (yes that one from Pushing Daisies) was in it! I was literally gaping at the screen when he appeared. He's so dreamy in this one. Trust me. It gives me the chills. and thrills.

Yep. You're right. Your vision did not tricked you. He's a pianist in this movie. How much dreamier can you get?

He's also in the upcoming movie, When In Rome. However, he plays a jerk in the movie. Oh well, you can't always be the hero now can you? The trailer is hilarious but don't watch it. Seriously. Do not click on it. It will just frustrate you more because you then have to wait until next year. Sigh.

Oh Oh Oh. Jennifer Garner a.k.a mlcc (my lesbian celebrity crush) new movie, The Invention of Lying's trailer is out and about! Woohoo. I really really love it. You have got to watch the trailer. Really. You can click on this one. Yep. Click on it. Isn't she so pretty? She's perfect. She's the epitome of perfection. To hell with you, Jolie.

I need my lunch. G'day everybody.

Guess Who's Back at Polyvore?

Bahaha. I have no idea what to do. I've played all the games at people.com. I wanted to edit my blog header but my brain is currently empty so I searched and searched and played with textures and walla, a set is produced. I hate how my sets are so messy. I need to organize it nicely but memang aku rajin ah kan sekarang? Bahahaha. I should be studying but yet here I am.

I missed True Blood. I need to get a life.

Is Everyone Here Make-Believe?

Err, Hi? I know I'm practically dead nowadays but hell with it. I blog when I want. (which is actually like never)

I don't have any kind of discrimination towards blogging. However, when it comes to me blogging, well, let's just put it this was : I have better things to do.

I do not know how to start. BLANK. BLANK.

BLANK.
BLANK.
BLANK.

I finally bought Lovestruck Summer by Melissa Walker. She's the first ever author to comment on my blog (this blog). Don't ask me how she found it. I have no idea. She even wished me happy birthday! God, was I thrilled. Anyway, Lovestruck Summer is about Quinn's journey staying at Austin with her crazy sorrority cousin while interning at a major indie label.

See, the thing with me is that I love reading books about music. I loved Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I especially love the music references. Belle and Sebastian was an amazing discovery. It was wonderful. I downloaded almost all of the songs featured in the book. Belle and Sebastian was an amazing discovery. I read Audrey, Wait!'s excerpt and I was practically jumping up and down when it mentioned Oasis's Don't Go Away. Its like a connection with the character. A bond that won't break. Music does that. So of course I'd want to read Lovestruck Summer.

I could connect with Quinn from the start. Quinn is like most of the teenagers I know.

--no this is not a review. I'm going somewhere with this.

You know that protective feeling you get when your favourite band-that-nobody-knows-about gets recognized and now everyone's ringtone is their song and you feel like f*ck them, I knew them first. Quinn's like that. Quinn hates those typical stereotype people who lists a band their favourite band just because of one song that aired on MTV. Quinn is a major indie die hard fan. She loathes country music. See, the thing with Austin is you get the best of both world ( I sound so Hannah Montana). Texas is of course the capital for country music and there's the indie world. Austin Music Fest is packed with indie bands.

Anyway, back to the book. Quinn's cousin's neighbour, Russ is the typical frat cowboy. Of course, being a cowboy who is also in fraternity, he likes country music. But here's the major twist, Russ loves all types of music. He embraces every one of it. Even covers. Quinn, being the stereotype complains, like all of us (including me) about how no one knew of her favourite band until it appears on MTV. I was with Quinn all the way. Hell yeah!

Until Russ gave a life altering (okay not exactly but you get my point right? ) speech (more like a conversation but then again)

Okay here's part of the conversation :
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Quinn : I know what I like. It's a certain type of music and I'm just not into stuff like bluegrass and banjos.

Russ : Music is music, Priscilla. (oh yeah, Russ calls Quinn by her first name) If you love music, you give it all a listen. You see what there is to learn in every song you hear. You take chances on shows. That's part of it.

Quinn : You think that manufactured pop countdown is music?

Russ : Lots of your indie bands end up on those charts, let's not forget.

Quinn : I know. And I hate that. I hate when annoying giggly girls know one song from a great band because it just happened to be on a movie soundtrack or something. They're totally co-opting the music and sellling out the sound.

Russ : Do you hear yourself? You sound like a conspiracy theorist. Who cares? If she likes the music, she likes the music. You don't own it. You can't tell people what to like -you can't control who likes the band you like.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I don't know about you but while I was reading it, it was like a bell rang in my head. Ding! It's so so true. We are the typical stereotype. We judge people for what they like. We have no right yet we still do it. Then, we hate it when it happens to us. I know I am. I was majorly pissed when Mayday Parade's video clip was on MTV. I was like, 'oh no now everyone's going to find out about them'. The same goes with Story of The Year and Motion City Soundtrack. I wanted to keep them a secret. However, at the end of the day, it's not mine to keep. Its not mine.

Oh the book ended with Russ teaching Quinn about the beauty of universality in music.

The same goes with everything. Books, clothes, brands. It's a free world. So, as I'm trying to be more generous I'll share with you some of my current favourites like

Simone Elkeles's Perfect Chemistry.

Gosh. I want this book so bad. Since it was first published which was like what? December 2008? Grr. I've been waiting for Kinokuniya to carry this title. Grrr. They are finally carrying this title and can you believe my luck? It wasn't there when I went. God. I'm aching for this book. Somebody please sponsor me. Please please. It's only RM40.57. It has the best book tailer ever.

Even Meg Cabot bought a copy! Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Speaking of Meg Cabot, the new cover for the 3rd book in the airhead series is so gohjas. It's title is Runaway and this is the cover :

Gohjas gila. I'm regretting for not following this series. I am so going to read Airhead and Being Nikki now.

And a book to look forward to :

Fiona can be hard to get along with: she's a little prickly, clueless, opinionated, and unrelenting. When a course on marriage, a requirement for graduation, forces her to wed Todd, a male cheerleader, she is flabbergasted. They are the worst match on the planet, and she just knows this will be torture. To make matters worse, her best friend announces that she is in love with Fiona's lifelong crush, and that she finds Fiona too self-absorbed. Fiona is, of course, hurt, and left without a friend on whom she can rely. However, her senior year is also filled with hilarious situations. As she deals with her trials and tribulations, Fiona learns a great deal about herself and about how to interact with other people. While the book is laugh-out-loud funny in some places, it also gives readers time to pause and think about priorities, relationships, and making the most of trying situations

I can't wait for this one! Goshhhhhhhh.

Tunggu lah kau February 2010. Aku akan datang berlari.

Okay okay. I've got to go. Bye Bye.
